Imperfectionist Identity

Working on my new website design that required me to design a whole new identity for myself… well, for branding purposes at least. Not only are logos difficult to create for someone else, but having yourself as a client — and being a perfectionist client, at that — phew, that’s difficult. This circular shape though has been a standing symbol in my life in recent years: the enso, a Japanese calligraphic swash depicting the beauty and necessity of imperfection and individuality. At least that’s how I interpret its meaning. No one is the same, and an unclosed circle represents life’s journey and being part of something greater. Plus, asymmetry is just awesome, in my personal design opinion. Stay tuned for my portfolio site’s launch!
