Besides getting a cold, I’m feeling great drinking my greens for seven days straight—bring on 3 more weeks! I’m not substituting meals or going on a detox smoothie binge—that’s why I love this challenge. I’m only introducing a single green smoothie into my daily diet for the full month of April. If you’re interested in joining the next 30-day challenge, check out Simple Green Smoothies for more info. It’s free, and signing up just gets you recipes and weekly motivation. Here’s my past few days in photos:
DAY THREE: Started with fresh spinach and Trader Joes’s frozen organic tropical fruit blend, then added tangerines, half an avocado, coconut milk, and water.
DAY FOUR: Always sunny in Santa Barbara, and always perfect for a green smoothie! Spinach, basil, half an avo, unsweetened organic apple/apricot sauce, three tangerines, frozen banana, almond milk.
DAY FIVE: Feeling sicky and don’t feel like going to the store for green smoothie ingredients because you’ve already gone through all your produce in five days? (Impressive). Use whatever frozen fruit is left, add the last bit of spinach, and hope that’ll kick the icky right outta ya! Spinach, frozen mango, dried figs, organic hemp protein, combo of almond and coconut milk, vanilla, couple of tangerines for extra Vitamin C.
DAY SIX: I swear it’s green in there! Kale, frozen berries, coconut cream, dates, water, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
DAY SEVEN: Dishes are dirty… and oh hey, grapes! … aaand oh, a clean wine glass… aaand it’s a smoothie in a wine glass! Because it has grapes… and wine is fermented grapes so it goes together… Spinach, frozen ‘nana, avocado, green grapes, tangerines, almond milk, coconut water.
